Peace is essential for sharpness of intellect. Haste and worry will confuse the intelligence. Peace develops all the beneficial characteristics in you. Even farsightedness grows through Peace. Through that, obstacles can be anticipated and averted. In the past, you may have had failings, mistakes, drawbacks, etc. In such situations, the "Will to feel pure" must be strengthened and these failings will never be recollected. If thoughts run after the failings and begin to dwell on how they came about, you are prone to commit a few more  mistakes. Since you already recognized these as your mistakes, why worry about their birth and ancestry? Of what profit is it to spend time on things that are no longer necessary?
