Ramdas, Tukaram, Kabir, Thyagaraja, Nandana (Great Devotees of the Lord), all of them cultivated the fortitude needed to bear all the calumny, torture and travail, that was their lot. If you base your effort on these examples, you will be free of anger, despair or doubt.  The accounts of their struggles and successes, when contemplated upon are more useful to the aspirant than the contemplation of the powers and accomplishments of the Lord. These accounts will help you to try out in your own experience, the methods which has been developed. You will find that Santhi (peace) was the main instrument that saved them from the coils of anger, pain, conceit, doubt and despair.
