Students have to pay great attention to an important quality—cleanliness, both outer and inner. When either of these is absent, that person becomes useless for any task. The clothes you wear, the books you read and the environment around you must be clean. This is the outer cleanliness. That is to say, every material object you deal with for living has to be kept clean. The body has to be scrubbed and washed every day, or else, it may cause infection to you and others. The teeth and eyes, the food and drink, all should be free from dirt.  You can then lead a healthy life. -  Vidya Vahini, Chap 16.
